working the intersection of Change & collective ACTIon by Cultivating emotional intelligence & Leadership Capacity

EQ = Emotional Intelligence (Emotional Quotient) - What is EQ and why does it matter?

We all have a deep and innate capacity for emotional intelligence (EQ) though we need support an intention to cultivate our leadership competencies and to draw the best out of our colleagues and teams.

At EQ Catalyst we work with People and Culture teams and leaders in non-profit organizations to improve culture, operations and systems by facilitating conflict resolution, trainings on feedback, communication and culture, as well as one-on-one coaching and retreat facilitation. I use the following tools and frameworks to inform my work:

  • DISC Workplace Assessments - a personal development learning experience based on the DiSC® model

  • Restorative practices. To move away from punitive or neglectful practices and towards a spirit of collaborative partnership that seeks to reduce harm and promote repair.  Reference: Int’l Institute for Restorative practices

  • Somatic Anti-racism & Emotional Intelligence. Individual and group competencies of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management in service of somatic anti-racism. Reference: WEF & CSI

  • Human centered design. Management and leadership tools that are rooted in how we work and communicate on the day-to-day. Reference: Interaction Design Forum

  • Trauma-informed care.` Facilitation and advisory that promotes practices that reduce subtle and overt harm in the workplace and support healing. Reference: HBR

Now more than ever we need leaders who are supporting transformational change to shed antiquated leadership models and bring about the just cultures, processes and systems needed to effectuate a more sustainable future.
